Pink Umbrella International is a registered public charity that focuses on creating awareness and taking a role in the primary prevention of Domestic violence/Intimate partner Violence amongst immigrant and culturally linguistically diverse communities (CALD) in Australia. We work and advocate to address those invisible complex social issues that remain unspoken and unseen.

We endeavour to address these multilayer problems through evidence-based research through a social justice lens. We believe everybody has the right to live a fearless good life with dignity without any cultural or gender bias and have the fundamental right to access correct information and available services.

Our niche is in the primary prevention program for CALD communities.

We envision creating a platform of awareness on complex domestic violence amongst immigrant women & their children and encouraging respectfulness for all.

Pink Umbrella Internatioal (PUI) is a non-profit organisation that was created to address the invisible stress, complex social issues and lack of awareness during the settlement process. Often these are camouflaged with intimate partner abuse of various degrees and spectrum. We endeavour to address these multilayer problems through case studies, evidence-based advocacy, awareness creation, referrals and case management. Our niche is in primary prevention programme for CALD communities. We address the gaps and empower them through a social justice lens. We believe everybody has the right to live a fearless good life with dignity, no cultural or gender bias, and no fundamental right violation.

Awareness: Acknowledge, Learn & Intervene

Recognize that domestic violence affects society at large – it does not start and end with the victim. Be an active bystander. Call out victim-blaming and bullying behavior. Step in safely when an act of domestic violence is happening.

Evidence and Research

Open the path of knowledge translation & Bringing Evidence to action.

Collaboration

Educate friends, family, and community. Work along with like-minded organizations to eradicate domestic violence.

Advocacy

Get involved with policy and bring evidence to change the policy and legislation.
